Overview of XAT Exam 2025
The Xavier Aptitude Test, or XAT, is a national-level entrance exam conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on behalf of XAMI (Xavier Association of Management Institutes). The exam is accepted by over 160 B-schools across India for admission to MBA and PGDM programs, including top institutes like IMT Ghaziabad, TAPMI, and XIMB.
What makes XAT unique is its inclusion of decision-making and essay writing sections, skills that go beyond textbook learning and test real-world reasoning. The exam is held once every year across more than 70 Indian cities.
Of course, there are certain eligibility criteria for the XAT exam. They are as follows.

You must have completed a 3-year Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university.

Final-year undergraduate students are also eligible to apply.

No minimum marks are required to apply.

There is no age limit for appearing in XAT.

XAT 2025 Syllabus
The XAT exam encompasses five sections, namely, Verbal Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability, General Knowledge, and Essay Writing. You are required to attempt them all. However, note that the Essay Writing section is only conducted and evaluated if you are shortlisted for the next rounds.
