How Primebook Became Pradeep’s “Heera” with His Access to Online Education?

How Primebook Became Pradeep’s “Heera” with His Access to Online Education?

Here's the story of Pradeep, a 14-year-old boy from Surajpur village in Kanpur Dihar, who has secured 96.7% in his test exam with his "Heera", Primebook, as his weapon to combat his socio-economic challenges. Here's how his education journey transformed with access to online education that the laptop offered him, like never before.

Pradeep's story is not an isolated one. As of 2026, internet penetration in rural India continues to climb, with IAMAI reporting that rural users now form the majority of India's online population, surpassing urban users for the first time. Yet, the device gap remains real: most rural learners still rely on shared smartphones rather than personal laptops, limiting how deeply they can engage with online education. Pradeep's journey shows what changes when that gap closes.

A Brief About Pradeep

Pradeep Kumar, a student of class 9 at Kshetriya Inter College School, Fattepur, Roshanai, Kanpur, has come a long way. From not being able to attend online classes to being prepared for a lesson well before walking into the classroom, his transformation has been remarkable.

Pradeep is passionate about cricket and keen to study science, "because everything around our daily life now is based on science" (translated from Hindi to English), as he states and exerts. He reads about various science topics outside his class lessons and tries to continuously enhance his knowledge, as it is one of his strengths that can outdo his socio-economic and geographical limitations.

Pradeep's Education Journey Before Using Primebook

Before finding his "Heera", the pet name Pradeep has given to his Primebook laptop because "it's no less than a diamond for students like us", there were several difficulties that kept him from accessing and acquiring the unlimited possibilities of online education.

Not only was he left out of many lessons because of not being able to attend online classes, but he also found it troublesome to find answers to various questions that were not available in the limited books he had. Hence, he was deprived of the comprehensive exam preparation he always strived for.

Pradeep's situation reflects a wider reality. UDISE+ data on Indian school infrastructure shows that a significant share of government school students in semi-rural belts still lack reliable access to a personal computing device, even when classrooms have improved. For learners like Pradeep, the gap between what is taught and what can be revised at home stays wide unless a dedicated device enters the picture.

Pradeep's Education Journey After Using Primebook

Pradeep has been using Primebook for six months now and is delighted with the educational opportunities that have come his way. Not only does he have access to online classes, but he can also study his lessons before going to class and explain them well in the classroom.

He takes multiple self-tests and pursues exercises on the AAS Vidyalaya online learning app using his Primebook. Pradeep considers the keyboard the best part of the laptop, as he can now "comfortably type and take notes, wherever and whenever necessary." (translated from Hindi to English). Besides this, he loves using the laptop "to watch educational stories and science experiments, which adds value to his online and offline class lessons." (translated into English).

What works for Pradeep is the way PrimeOS is built around how Indian students actually study. The Android-based system runs the apps he already knows from a phone, supports multi-window multitasking so he can keep a video lesson open beside his notes, and offers long battery life that suits homes where electricity supply can be inconsistent. IEA data on India's energy access notes that while electrification has reached almost every village, supply quality in rural pockets is still uneven, which makes battery efficiency a genuine learning enabler, not a spec sheet line.

Pradeep vehemently highlights that he would always choose Primebook over books, saying "whatever isn't possible to study from books are now possible with Primebook." (translated from Hindi to English).

Primebook's Thought on Pradeep's Access to Online Education

To Primebook, Pradeep's story is a strong example of how passion and diligence stand as the best knights to overthrow socio-economic disparities. To this, the Chief Business Officer, Pankaj Rawat, says:

"Primebook is grateful to have served a bright student like Pradeep with his first-time access to online education, as they are who would lead the nation in the future. While bridging the gap in the online education system in India has been our business mission since its inception, seeing it becoming a ground reality gives me, and the whole team, more motivation to improve, innovate, and deliver high-performing affordable laptops for all students in India and beyond."

Pradeep's 96.7% in his test exam is not just a number on a report card. It is what happens when a student with the will to learn finally gets a tool built for the way he learns. As India moves deeper into the AI and online-learning era in 2026, stories like his are a reminder that the next generation of toppers, coders, and scientists will not all come from metro coaching hubs. Many will come from villages like Surajpur, with their own "Heera" by their side.
